يَجِدwill find يارَقاًa bracelet مُلقىًcast aside وَقَلباًand a bangle مُعَضَّداfor the upper arm
So whoever follows our tracks at our campsite
Whoever follows our traces in our abode
Will find a bracelet cast aside, and a bangle for the upper arm,
Will find a forsaken lover and a heart in anguish

And pearls and rubies they sought to gather;
Pearls and rubies that hands coveted to grasp
The hand of youthful passion gave way, and they scattered.
Which failed, for they were destined to be scattered

And a disheveled man, his head drooping toward the camel-saddle,
A disheveled lover whose head inclined
I liken him, at the end of the night, to a hoopoe;
To the curves, I liken him at end of night to a love-sick nightingale

And one sprawled like a rope from sleep's overpowering force,
And a permanent lover like a rope from Sura al-Qadr
Who sees the stone cast aside as a smoothly prepared bed.
Who sees the discarded stone as a well-prepared bed
