وَفي باطِني نارٌ يُشَبُّ لَهيبُها
One day they said to me, when I had come to their encampment,
They say to me one day when I come to their quarters,
And within me was a fire whose flame was being stoked:
And inside me there is a fire whose flames blaze,
أَماdo ... not? تَختَشيyou fear مِنof أُسدِناour lions فَأَجَبتُهُمso I answered them
أَما تَختَشي مِن أُسدِنا فَأَجَبتُهُم
هَوىlonging كُلَّevery نَفسٍsoul أَينَwherever حَلَّsettled حَبيبُهاits beloved
هَوى كُلَّ نَفسٍ أَينَ حَلَّ حَبيبُها
"Do you not fear our lions?" So I answered them:
"Do you not fear our lion?" I answered them,
"Every soul's longing lies wherever its beloved dwells."
Every soul inclines to where its beloved lays.
