O love of Layla, entering and penetrating

The recesses of my heart—this is hard for me.

O love of Layla, heal me; you have already killed me.

How, then, can you heal me while you grow stronger?

And, O love of Layla, grant me judgment and pass judgment

Upon me, for no witnesses are needed against me.

I see you woven with two threads, while all love

Is woven with one and wears out, yet you remain new.
