وَتَعذُبُand taste sweet ليto me مِنfrom غَيرِهاothers than her فَأُعافُهاyet I spurn them
مَشارِبُsources of drink فيهاin them مَقنَعٌsufficiency لَوif أُريدُهاI desire them
And sweet to me, from others than her—yet I spurn them—
Are sources of drink that would suffice, if I desired them.
وَأَمنَحُهاand I grant her أَقصىthe utmost of هَوايَmy love وَإِنَّنيalthough I
عَلىin ثِقَةٍcertainty مِنof أَنَّthat حَظّيmy lot صُدودُهاher turning away
And I grant her my utmost love, although I
Am certain that my lot is her turning away.
