فَوَاللَهِfor, by God ماnot أَبكيI weep عَلىfor يَومِthe day of ميتَتيmy death
وَلَكِنَّنيbut I مِنat وَشكِthe nearness of بَينِكِparting from you أَجزَعُI am distraught
For, by God, I do not weep for the day of my death,
but I am distraught at the nearness of parting from you.
فَصَبراًso be patient لِأَمرِwith the decree of اللَهِGod إِنif حانَcomes يَومُناour day
فَلَيسَfor there is no لِأَمرٍfor a decree حَمَّهُhas ordained it اللَهُGod مَدفَعُmeans of averting
So be patient with God's decree, if our day should come,
for there is no averting what God has ordained.
