وَجَدتُ الحُبَّ نيراناً تَلَظّى

وَجَدتُ الحُبَّ نيراناً تَلَظّى

قُلوبُ العاشِقينَ لَها وَقودُ

قُلوبُ العاشِقينَ لَها وَقودُ

I found love to be blazing fires;

The hearts of lovers are their fuel.

فَلَو كانَت إِذا اِحتَرَقَت تَفانَت

فَلَو كانَت إِذا اِحتَرَقَت تَفانَت

وَلَكِن كُلَّما اِحتَرَقَت تَعودُ

وَلَكِن كُلَّما اِحتَرَقَت تَعودُ

If only they perished when they burned—

And yet, whenever they burn, they return.

كَأَهلِ النارِ إِذ نَضِجَت جُلودٌ

كَأَهلِ النارِ إِذ نَضِجَت جُلودٌ

أُعيدَت لِلشَقاءِ لَهُم جُلودُ

أُعيدَت لِلشَقاءِ لَهُم جُلودُ

Like the people of the Fire: when skins were burned through,

Skins were restored to them for suffering.
