وَإِنَّ أَخاكَ الكارِهَ الوِردَ وارِدٌ

وَإِنَّ أَخاكَ الكارِهَ الوِردَ وارِدٌ

وَإِنَّكَ مَرأى مِن أَخيكَ وَيَسمَعُ

وَإِنَّكَ مَرأى مِن أَخيكَ وَيَسمَعُ

And indeed your brother, though loath to approach water, will approach it.

Though your foe abhors the rose, yet toward you he's coming,

And indeed you are within your brother’s sight, and he hears you.

And both sees and hears you, though you're not aware.

وَإِنَّكَ لا تَدري بِأَيَّةِ بَلدَةٍ

وَإِنَّكَ لا تَدري بِأَيَّةِ بَلدَةٍ

تَموتُ وَلا عَن أَيِّ شِقَّيكَ تُصرَعُ

تَموتُ وَلا عَن أَيِّ شِقَّيكَ تُصرَعُ

And indeed you do not know in which land

You know not in what land you will die,

You will die, nor on which of your two sides you will be struck down.

Nor from which side affliction will befall.

وَإِنَّكَ لا تَدري أَشَيءٌ تُحِبُّهُ

وَإِنَّكَ لا تَدري أَشَيءٌ تُحِبُّهُ

وَآخَرُ مِمّا تَكرَهُ النَفعَ أَنفَعُ

وَآخَرُ مِمّا تَكرَهُ النَفعَ أَنفَعُ

And indeed you do not know whether something you love

You know nothing that you would love to last,

Or another thing among what you dislike is of greater benefit.

Nor which of that you hate is most helpful to you.
