وَفيand among الجيرَةِthe neighbors الغادينَdeparting in the morning مِنfrom بَطنِthe valley of وَجرَةٍWajra
وَفي الجيرَةِ الغادينَ مِن بَطنِ وَجرَةٍ
غَزالٌa gazelle غَضيضُdowncast المُقلَتينِthe two eyes رَبيبُhand-reared
غَزالٌ غَضيضُ المُقلَتينِ رَبيبُ
And among the neighbors departing in the morning from the valley of Wajra
In the deserted neighborhood of Wajrah's valley
is a hand-reared gazelle with downcast eyes.
A tender-eyed gazelle, so very young
فَلاso do not تَحسَبيyou think أَنَّthat الغَريبَthe stranger الَّذيwho نَأىhas gone far away
فَلا تَحسَبي أَنَّ الغَريبَ الَّذي نَأى
وَلَكِنَّbut rather مَنwhoever تَنأَينَyou draw away عَنهُfrom him غَريبُa stranger
وَلَكِنَّ مَن تَنأَينَ عَنهُ غَريبُ
So do not think the stranger is the one who has gone far away;
Do not think that the stranger is the one who turned away
rather, the one you draw away from is the stranger.
But the one whom you have abandoned is the stranger
