إِذا أَنتَ أَقرَرتَ الظُلامَةَ لِاِمرِئٍ

إِذا أَنتَ أَقرَرتَ الظُلامَةَ لِاِمرِئٍ

رَماكَ بِأُخرى شَعبُها مُتَفاقِمُ

رَماكَ بِأُخرى شَعبُها مُتَفاقِمُ

If you submit to a man's injustice,

When you decree darkness for a man

He assails you with another, its breach ever widening.

Whose people's plight is ever worsening

فَلا تُبدِ لِلأَعداءِ إِلّا خُشونَةً

فَلا تُبدِ لِلأَعداءِ إِلّا خُشونَةً

فَما لَكَ مِنهُم إِن تَمَكَّنَ راحِمُ

فَما لَكَ مِنهُم إِن تَمَكَّنَ راحِمُ

So show your enemies nothing but sternness;

Show the enemy nothing but roughness

For none of them will show you mercy if he gains the upper hand.

For you'll get no mercy if they gain ascendance
