وَنَحنُ قَتَلنا في جَلَولا أَثابِراً

وَنَحنُ قَتَلنا في جَلَولا أَثابِراً

وَمَهرانَ إِذ عَزَّت عَلَيهِ المَذاهِبُ

And we killed Athabir at Jalula,

And we killed in Jalula many champions

and Mehran, when the ways of escape were closed to him.

And Mihran when sects became difficult for him

وَيَومَ جَلَولاءَ الوَقيعَةِ أُفنِيَت

وَيَومَ جَلَولاءَ الوَقيعَةِ أُفنِيَت

بَنو فارِسٍ لَمّا حَوَتها الكَتائِبُ

بَنو فارِسٍ لَمّا حَوَتها الكَتائِبُ

And on the day of Jalula’s battle, annihilated were

And the day of disaster in Jalula were destroyed

the sons of Persia, when the battalions surrounded them.
