When the sun of day rises, offer your greetings,
When the sun of daytime rises, greet
For its rising is the sign of my greeting to you.
For my greeting to you is in its rising
بِعَشرِwith ten تَحِيّاتٍsalutations إِذاwhen الشَمسُthe sun أَشرَقَتshines

With ten salutations when the sun shines,
With ten salutations when the sun shines
And ten when it turns yellow and its return is at hand.
And ten when it yellows and nears setting

And were a neighbor woman to convey my words, 'Be safe,' to her,
If a neighbor conveyed to her my words, "Give greetings"
She would weep in anguish, and her tears would stream from her.
She would weep in sorrow and her tears pour forth
وَبانَand became apparent الَّذيwhat تَخفيshe conceals مِنَof الوَجدِpassionate longing فيin الحَشاthe breast

And the longing she hides within her breast would be revealed,
And the passion she hides due to bashfulness would appear
When frightening news of me reaches her.
If talk of me came to her and startled her
