وَاِقضِ اللُبانَةَ ما قَضَّيتَ وَاِنصَرِفِ
I have told my heart, 'No Lubna for you—admit it;
satisfy as much of your longing as you can, and turn away.'

Fie on all that talk and oath-taking!

Until the slanderers hemmed me in, and she was snatched away.
Never feel safe from the deceit of one at your side.

the people of al-Aqiq, while we are now at Sarif.

A tribe of Yemenis—while al-Batha is our home.
This, by your life, is a company divided.
