أَجودُI give generously بِمَضنونِof what is jealously treasured التِلادِancestral wealth وَإِنَّنيand indeed I
أَجودُ بِمَضنونِ التِلادِ وَإِنَّني
بِسِرِّكَwith your secret عَمَّنfrom whoever سالَنيasks me لَضَنينُtruly miserly
بِسِرِّكَ عَمَّن سالَني لَضَنينُ
I give freely of treasured ancestral wealth, and indeed I
Though I freely impart the joys of friendship, yet
am truly miserly with your secret toward anyone who asks me.
Of your secret to inquirers dumb am I.
فَأُبريso I soothe بِهِمthrough them صَدريmy breast وَأُصفيand I purify مَوَدَّتيmy affection
فَأُبري بِهِم صَدري وَأُصفي مَوَدَّتي
وَسِرُّكَand your secret عِنديwith me بَعدَafter ذاكَthat مَصونُguarded
وَسِرُّكَ عِندي بَعدَ ذاكَ مَصونُ
So I soothe my breast through them and purify my affection,
So my breast I ease of its pang and hide my love,
and your secret remains guarded with me after that.
While your secret in my care rests safely hid.
