كَمmany a قائِمٍstanding man يُحزِنُهُgrieves him مَقتَليmy slaying
كَم قائِمٍ يُحزِنُهُ مَقتَلي
وَقاعِدٍand a seated man يَرقُبُنيwatches me شامِتُgloating
وَقاعِدٍ يَرقُبُني شامِتُ
Many a standing man is grieved by my slaying,
How many stand mourning my death
and many a seated man watches me, gloating.
And sit watching me gloatingly
أَبلِغtell خِداشاًKhidash أَنَّنيthat I مَيِّتٌdestined to die
أَبلِغ خِداشاً أَنَّني مَيِّتٌ
كُلُّevery اِمرِئٍman ذيpossessing حَسَبٍnoble lineage مائِتُmortal
كُلُّ اِمرِئٍ ذي حَسَبٍ مائِتُ
Tell Khidash that I shall die;
Tell Khadash I am dead
every man of noble lineage must die.
Every person of lineage dies
