وَقَد لاحَ في الصُبحِ الثُرَيّا لِمَن رَأى

وَقَد لاحَ في الصُبحِ الثُرَيّا لِمَن رَأى

كَعُنقودِ مُلّاحِيَّةٍ حينَ نَوَّرا

كَعُنقودِ مُلّاحِيَّةٍ حينَ نَوَّرا

And at dawn the Pleiades shone for whoever looked,

In the morn appeared brightly to all who saw

Like a cluster on a Mullāḥiyya white-grape vine when it blossomed.

Like a cluster of sailors when day has dawned
