أعوذ باللَه من يوم تصول به

وقت الظهيرة أمطارٌ وأرعاد

I seek refuge in Allah from the day

When there are thunderstorms at noon

إذا طربنا إليه في مواكبه

فحظّنا منه إنذار وإيعاد

If we are led to it in procession

Our share of it is warning and appointment

كلّ إلى إلفه يهفو بآصرة

لا البرق ينقلها يوما ولا الراد

Everyone longing for their habits

Neither lightning takes them one day nor hail

مزلزلاتٌ كأيام الزمان بنا

إن الزمان بأهل الصدق مرصاد

Earthquakes like the days of time with us

Time for the truthful people is an ambush

لو كان في الدهر مشتاقٌ له ثقةٌ

بمن يحب لكانوا بالهوى جادوا

If there was in life a lover who trusts

In whom he loves they would have been generous with love

ألاذهم بتجنيه فأهلكهم

عيبٌ عليهم فظيع إن همو عادوا

Blame them for their gathering then destruction

A grave flaw if they intend to return
