The breeze blew on the rose during its blossoming days

Fearing it would diminish its lasting fragrance

If the rose grieves, being wronged, it's no wonder

The gardener waters the thorns, nourishing its stem

It's no surprise the vile comfort each other

With cascades of base meanness gushing forth

If they prevail, the nights in their aftermath

Are oppression upon oppression, exhaustion upon fatigue

O you whose image I fear, when I whisper to it privately

That the days may witness my burning

And whose secrets from me are veiled

As if they are revelation, folded between pages

What a secret is your beauty, no body can contain it

A garment to protect it from my intense stares

A body of light, if you appeared naked one day

The spirits would have no protection
