بروقٌ وأمطار فيا هول ما أرى

لقد جُنَّ هذا الكون من رؤيتي وحدي

Lightning and rain, what a horror I see

The universe has gone mad before my eyes alone

أنيران قلبي تجعل الكون دمعة

تحول بها عيناي سهدا على سهد

Fires in my heart make the universe a teardrop

With which my eyes turn the plateau into plateau

ثعابين أرآها فماذا تريدهُ

وأشبال اساد فررن من المهد

Snakes I saw, what do they want

And lion cubs escaped from the cradle

فيا رب أنت اللَه جل ثناؤه

وأنت مجير الشوك من نفحة الورد

O Lord, You are God, Glory be to You

You are the protector from the thorn of a rose's breath

أجر هذه الدنيا بلطفك رحمة

بقوم سيلقون المكارة من بعدي

Make this world with Your kindness a mercy

To a people who will face adversity after me

أمكةُ هل ذنبٌ إليك جنيتهُ

سوى الحب من قلب تجسّم في دمعي

O Mecca, is there a sin to You I have committed

Other than love from a heart embodied in my tear?

أطوف به اسوان جذلان صادياً

واسقى ديار الحب ربعا إلى ربع

I roam it from Aswan to Jazlan calling

And water the lands of love from quarter to quarter

إذا طغت الريح العصوف زجرتها

فما ثمّ صوتٌ غير صوتك في سمعي

When the blustering winds rage, I rebuke them

For there is no voice but Yours in my hearing

عليك سلام الحب يا خير دارةٍ

ولا تجزعي إن الفراق إلى رجع

Peace of love be upon you, O best of homes

And do not worry, for separation is to return

فإن أنا لم أرجع إليك فإنني

سألقاك يوم الحشر في ذلك الجمع

And if I do not return to you, then I

Will meet you on the Day of Resurrection in that gathering
