منظرٌ رائع الجمال رهيبٌ

كاصطخاب الأهواء بين ضلوعي

A magnificent and awe-inspiring view

Like the turmoil of winds in my ribs

أرعد تصرخ الطبيعة فيها

صرخات المتيّم المفجوع

Nature screams and thunders in it

The screams of the afflicted, the heartbroken

ودموع السماء من كل صوب

تتنزّى كمزنةٍ من دموعي

And the sky's tears from all around

Flowing like my own tears

وبروقٌ كأنها ومضاتٌ

من تناجى ذكاء عند الطلوع

And lightning as if flashes

Of wisdom's whispers at dawn

أمطرى يا سماء في كل أر

أوقدي يا سماء نور الشموع

Rain down, o sky, on every land

Ignite, o sky, the lamps' glow

كل خير من السماء جميل

ساقه اللَه رحمةً للجميع

All good from the sky is beautiful

Sent by God as mercy for all

أيها الرعد إن تطل فسأشكو

ما أقاسيه للقريب السميع

O thunder if you roar I will complain

Of what I suffer to the All-Hearing nearby

راع هذا الهدير يا مرسل البرق

كؤوساً رأبتها بصدوعي

Listen to this rumbling, o sender of lightning

That repaired my cracks

أعرتُ هذي السماء

في عينها الباكيه

I have adorned this sky

With her weeping eye

طرائِفاً من غِناء

من مهجتي الشاكيه

Snatches of melody

From my complaining soul

حبّ بحبّ وآمالٌ وأوديةٌ

يثور فيها طروب الروح جذلان

Love with love, hopes and valleys

Where the soul's bliss bubbles forth

في كل روض لنا طير نهيم به

إن الحمائم أشكال وألوان

In every garden we have a bird we pine for

Doves are shapes and colors

عندي لكل غرود والهوى طربٌ

دفّ وعود وقيثار ومرنان

For me every cooing is joy, the passion a drum

Lute, oud and flute
