أَقولُ لِعَيني حينَ جادَت بِدَمعِها

وَإِنسانُها في لُجَّةِ الدَمعِ يَغرَقُ

I say to my eyes when they weep generously

And their human drowns in the abundance of tears

خُذي بِنَصيبٍ مِن مَحاسِنِ وَجهِها

دَعي الدَمعَ لِليَومِ الَّذي نَتَفَرَّقُ

Take your share of the beauty of her face

Leave the tears for the day we part
