O Lebanon's beloved, may you live long
And may the clouds water your soil
O abode of intimacy, O land of serenity
O gardens of immortality, what a sublime place
How great is Lebanon with its forests
How great are those plains and summits
How great is its fragrant breeze
That revives souls and even heals illness
And the murmur of water in those hills
Is like the yearning of an enamored lover
How great is its spring that has depicted
An exhibition of flowers beaming with smiles
Having spread flowers in its expanse
Among roses, blossoms, and oleander
And the freshness of water in those eyes
Makes an old man seem younger than a lad
And you see the birds in those hills
Among sparrows, falcons, and doves
Swimming above branches of saplings
Among the rhythm of turtledoves' coos
What a delightful scene it encompassed
However it pleased, in the finest array
O morning breeze, convey my greetings
From a lover enthralled with homelands
You are to me, O best of lands, a paradise
That gathered all joy and peace
How great were the days of intimacy in you, O
My beloved homeland, they have passed like a dream
Remembering them has often stirred in me
A yearning that kindles a blaze in my heart
O may God water the bygone times
Among your eminent and generous people
They are the people of merit, lords of refuge
And foremost in morals, masters of glory
So my memory of you is eternal
And my affection for them is everlasting
