أَحَمامةَ الوادي بعيشكِ غرّدي

فوق الأَراكِ وبالمسرَّة أَنشدي

O dove of the valley, sing with your living

Above the shrubs and recite joyfully

ولترقص الأغصان من طرَبٍ على

نَغَم البلابل في العشيَّةِ والغدِ

Let the branches dance in rapture

To the melody of nightingales, morning and evening

وليبتسم ثغر الأقاحي بهجةً

بازآءِ خدٍّ للشقيق مورَّدِ

Let the lips of lilies smile in delight

Facing a rosy cheek to the anemones

في يوم بِشرٍ لاح فيه السعد إذ

منَّ الكريم بفضلهِ المتجدّدِ

On an auspicious day when good fortune shone

With the generosity of the noble ever renewed

وشَفَى الأمين بفيض وافر جودهِ

وعناية الشهم الكريم الاوحدِ

And the Trustworthy cured with abundant grace of his bounty

And the care of the generous peerless one

ذاك الطبيب الكامل النَدب الذي

ما زال بالحُسنَى يعود ويبتدي

That accomplished doctor of eminent lineage

Who still returns to treat and begins

صافي السريرة مُخلصٌ يمشي على

سُبُل الصلاح وبالمحامد يرتدي

Of pure conscience, sincere walking the

Paths of righteousness and wearing praise

يا النطاسيُّ الذي يشفي الضَنَى

قبل الدوآءِ بلطفهِ المتفرّدِ

O Nattasi who heals anguish

With his exceptional kindness

والفاضل البَرُّ الذي إحسانهُ

ما إن يكافا باللسان ولا اليدِ

And the virtuous beneficent whose benevolence

Cannot be requited by tongue or hand

لك مِنَّةٌ ثَقُلَت عليَّ فلا يفي

شكري ولو سطَّرت ألف مجلَّدِ

You have a favor that weighed on me so my

Thanks though filling a thousand volumes cannot suffice

لا زلت في الدنيا سعيداً سالماً

متمتعاً أبداً بعيش أرغدِ

May I remain happy and safe in this world

Ever enjoying a pleasant living
