طال الليل واظلما

قتل الليل أرقما

The night grew long and darker still

وأعتلى يطلب السما

كلما اجتاز أنجماً

راح يرتاد أنجما

It wandered among the stars

رب سر مكتم

لم نجده مكتما

Lord of a secret well-kept

We never found it kept secret

حفظ السر كله

فإذا شئت ترجما

It kept the secret whole
