اسيرُ نَحو بلادٍ لا أُسرُّ بِها
إذا تَبدّتْ لِعيني هيّجتْ أسَفي
I wander toward lands I take no pleasure in
When they appear before my eyes, they stir my sorrow
تطولُ أرضِي إذا يَمّمْتُ ساحتَها
بُغْضاً لها ثمّ تُطوى عندَ مُنصرَفي
My land lengthens when I intend its field
With hatred for it, then it shrinks when I turn away
