لا ذَنبَ للصَبّ المشُوق إذا بَدَتْ

أسرَارُه يَومَ النّوى للعُذّلِ

No blame on the passionate lover

When his secrets appeared on the day of departure

زَفَراتُه نَمَّتْ ولم يُفْصح بِمَا

يُخفِي فَجاءَ الدّمعُ بِالخَبرِ الجَلي

His sighs grew, yet he did not divulge

What he concealed, so tears told the clear news

أفَنى صَدُودُك في الدُّنُوِّ تَصَبُّري

وأتَى الفراقُ فَبزَّ حُسنَ تجمّلي

Your determination in life has faded

And separation has come, so persist in your beauty

فالعُمرُ أجمعُ بين هجرٍ سَالِفٍ

مَاضٍ وبَيْنٍ آنفٍ مُستقبَلِ

For life brings together past separation

With new future ahead
