مَالِي وللشّفعاءِ فيما أرتَجِي

من حُسن رأيِكَ فيَّ وهو شَفيعي

I have no need for mediators regarding what I hope for

From your good opinion of me, for it is my intercessor

أعْذَبتَ لِي من جُودِ كفّكَ مَوردي

فصَفَا وأمْرَعَ من نَدَاكَ ربيعِي

You have made the springs of your generosity my watering place

So it is clearer and more fertile than the springtime of my youth

وبِكَ اعتليتُ وطُلتُ من ساميتُه

فخراً بمجدِك لا بِحُسنِ صَنِيعِي

And through you I have risen up and attained the loftiness I aspire to

Priding myself on your glory, not on the merit of my deeds

وقضَى بِبُعديَ عنك دهرٌ جائرُ

وإلى جَنَابِكَ إن سلمتُ رُجوعِي

And an unjust fate has decreed my distance from you

And that I return, if I survive, to your side
