أُستُرْ بصبركَ ما تُخفيهِ من كَمَدٍ

وإن أذابَ حَشاكَ الهَمَّ والحُرَقُ

Veil with your patience the anguish you keep hidden,

though sorrow and searing pangs melt your innermost heart.

كالشَّمعِ يُظهِرُ أنوارَ التَّجَمُّلِ والدْ

دُموعُ منْهَلَّةٌ والجسمُ مُحتَرِقُ

Like a candle displaying the lights of composure and the

streaming tears, while its body burns.
