رُمّانُ مِصرَ كأنَّه ذُرَةٌ

آكلهُ شَاخِصٌ من الغُصَصِ

The pomegranates of Egypt are like particles

Whose eater stands out among the branches

والرّيقُ فيها فَدَعْ سِواهُ إذا

أسَاغَهُ المرءُ كان بالنّغَصِ

The saliva in it, so leave the rest when

A person finds it good, it will be gratifying

ولَيس يَرضَى اللبيبُ عِيشَتُه

فيها ولكنْ زُرَيقُ في القَفَصِ

The wise man is not content with his life

Among them, but the little one in a cage
