كَم تُرْزمي وكم تَحِنّي يَانَاقْ
حَسْبُكِ قَد هجتِ الجَوَى والأشْوَاقْ
How much you sigh and yearn, O graceful one
You have already provoked passion and longing
هِي النّوَى فما غَناءُ الإشفاقْ
تَقَسّمَتْنَا بالشّتاتْ والآفَاقْ
It is fate, so cease your compassion
We were divided by distance and horizons
كأنّها خَلْقٌ ونَحن أرْزاقْ
حتّى إذا أدْمَى البكاءُ الآماقْ
As if we are creation and sustenance
Until weeping darkened the depths
أصْقَبَتِ الدّارُ وقَلبِيَ مُشتاقْ
ما أتعَبَ الحاملَ قلباً تَوَّاقْ
The home grew desolate and my heart yearns
No burden tires a heart that longs
كالبرقِ مشبوبَ الضّرامِ خَفّاقْ
Like lightning flickering through the darkness
