ديار خلت من أهلها وتوحشت

فليس بها مرعى لعين ولا خصب

The abodes are deserted of their dwellers and became desolate

In them there is no pasture for the eye nor fertility

علاها البلى حتى تعفنت رسومها

وأنكرها طرفي فأثبتها القلب

Upon them time has cast its shadow until their relics decayed

My eyes denied recognizing them but my heart affirmed them
