1. يا لائِمَ المشتَاقِ دعْهُ فَقَلّمَا

    يُصغِي إلى نُصحٍ وَوَعظٍ بَالغِ

    O you who blame the lover, leave him be, for rarely

    Does he heed advice and preaching eloquent.

  2. تَلحَى المحبَّ وقلبُه ملآنُ من

    حَسَراتِه عَبثاً بقَلبٍ فَارغِ

    The lover's heart is brimming full with

    His longings futile, to an empty heart indifferent.

  3. دَعْ لَومَه فكفَاهُ تعذِيبُ الهَوى

    واستَبِقْ عَافيةَ النّعِيم السّابغِ

    Spare your blame, his love's torment suffices him

    And rather seek the abundant bounty magnificent.
