I say to Asma, complaining, yet I see no

Sign that anything has changed, to my dismay

Don't you know, O Asma, that I am angry

With all people, were they gathered today

The nights since you abandoned me are long

And once short, before we grew apart

Since we became estranged, I remain as though

I shared my bed with tribulation and smart
