أَيُّها الطارِقُ الَّذي قَد عَناني
بَعدَما نامَ سامِرُ الرُكبانِ
O night visitor, you who have brought me anguish,
after the caravan’s night-talkers had fallen asleep,
زارَ مِن نازِحٍ بِغَيرِ دَليلٍ
يَتَخَطّى إِلَيَّ حَتّى أَتاني
coming from afar, without a guide,
making his way toward me until at last he reached me.
