عُوجي عَلَيَّ فَسَلِّمي جَبرُ

فيمَ الصُدودُ وَأَنتُمُ سَفرُ

Turn to me, so I may bid farewell, Jabr,

Why the rejection when you're about to depart?

ما نَلتَقي إِلّا ثَلاثَ مِنىً

حَتّى يُفَرِّقَ بَينَنا النَفرُ

We only meet for three days

Until we're separated by parting.

الحَولَ ثُمَّ الشَهرَ يَتبَعُهُ

ما الدَهرُ إِلّا الحَولُ وَالشَهرُ

The year, then the month follows it.

Time is naught but the year and month.
