بَرَزَ البَدرُ في جَوارٍ تَهادى
مُخطَفاتِ الخُصورِ مُعتَجِراتِ
The full moon rose in the horizon, swaying
The veiled ladies, cloaked in their beauty
فَتَنَفَّستُ ثُمَّ قُلتُ لِبِكرٍ
عَجَّلَت في الحَياةِ لي خَيباتِ
I took a deep breath then said to the morning:
"You have hastened life's disappointments for me"
هَل سَبيلٌ إِلى الَّتي لا أُبالي
بَعدَها أَن أَموتَ قَبلَ وَفاتي
