مَرَّ بي سِربُ ظِباءِ
رائِحاتٍ مِن قُباءِ
A flock of gazelles passed by me
With scents wafting from Kuba
زُمَراً نَحوَ المُصَلّى
مُسرِعاتٍ في خَلاءِ
Groups heading to the place of worship
Rushing through the wilderness
فَتَعَرَّضتُ وَأَلقَي
تُ جَلابيبَ الحَياءِ
So I got in their way and threw off
The robes of modesty
وَقَديماً كانَ عَهدي
وَفَتوني بِالنِساءِ
Though long ago I had taken a vow
And women had seduced me
