يا مَن جَعَلناهُ لِحاجَتِنا

أَهلاً فَأَسلَمَنا إِلا الياسِ

O you who we made for our need

Welcome, so we surrendered except to despair

لا تَخشَ غائِلَةَ الهِجاءِ بِأَخ

صامي فَلَيسَ عَليكَ مِن باسِ

Do not fear the misfortune of criticism, my brother

Fasting, so there is no harm upon you

إِن تَسعَ فيها كانَ سَعيُكَ مَق

بولاًعَلى العَينينِ وَالراسِ

If it is wide in it, your effort was

Acceptable to the eyes and head

أَو لَم تُوَفَّق لِلقَضاءِ لَها

كُنتَ اِمرَءاً مِن جُملَةِ الناسِ

Or you were not enabled to accomplish it

You were a man among the people
