يا مُنفِقاً أَيّامَهُ
في لَهوِهِ وَمِزاحِهِ
O you who spend your days
In play and nonsense mirth,
يَستَحقِبُ الأَيّامَ بَي
نَ غُدُوِّهِ وَرَواحِهِ
Who waste the hours in jesting gay
From morn to evening's birth;
ما أَنتَ مِمَّن يَحمَدُ ال
إِسراءَ عِندَ صَباحِهِ
Not you the man whom all applaud
When comes the dawn's fresh ray.
