لِمَيمونَ وَجهٌ يَسوءُ العُيونَ
مَنظَرُهُ الأَسوَدُ الحالِكُ
A face so sullen it offends the eyes
With darkness ominous and fatal guise
وَحَمّامُهُ مُظلِمٌ بارِدٌ
يَضَلُّ بِأَرجائِهِ السالِكُ
His bathhouse chill and shadowy within
Where lost the lonely wanderer has been
وَهَب أَنَّ حَمّامَهُ جَنَّةٌ
أَلَيسَ عَلى بابِهِ مالِكُ
And if his bath's a heaven, can there be
No angel guarding at the entry?
