وَكَأَنَّ السُيوفَ وَالنَقعُ عالٍ

شُهبُ نارٍ في ساطِعٍ وَدُخانِ

And it was as if the swords and the clashing

As though the swords, while the dust of battle towers high,

Were sparks of fire in a glittering light and smoke

Are shooting stars of fire amidst a blaze and smoke.
