In Isabad resides a free man of Quraysh, surrounded by quenching drafts,
To whose protection Muslims fly for refuge whenever fear or hope arises.
And in the square stand lofty mansions, erected by a people of false lineage;
How many claim, "I am of sound stock," while their nature and bearing belie them.
He has honor he hoards that it might endure, yet for what he hoards there is no endurance.
Upon the Dabbiy lies a baseness that is not hidden; he tries to veil it, but the veil is torn away.
By my life, had Abu Khudayj undertaken the raising of the house, the structure would not have collapsed.
