إِن كُنتُ قَد غِبتُ لا تَزُرني

وَكُلَّما غِبتَ لا أَزورُ

Though I'm oft away, reproach me not,

Each time you're gone, I visit not.

فَإِنَّ هَذا الصُدودَ قَصدٌ

وَإِنَّ ذاكَ الوَدادَ زورُ

For distance intentional,

And friendship superficial.
