يكاد يسقيهِ كأس الموتِ تعذيبُ
O people, tell the one afflicted with grief
Whom the cup of death nearly gives to drink in torment,
هل من دواءٍ لقلبٍ من كآبته
تَفَجّرَت في زواياه الأنابيبُ
Is there a cure for a heart whose anguish
Has burst pipes in its corners?
