Let me sleep in bliss, my friends
For my soul is drunk with the wine of love
And from these nights it has had its fill
And from these days it is tired and bored
Light candles around my body and cense
Pour scented oils abundantly on my feet
Scatter roses and narcissi on my body
And perfume my hair with crushed musk
Look and read what the hand of death etches
As a memento on the tablet of my forehead
Let the close one stretch his arms around me
For my eyelids tire me out keeping me awake
Bring and strike a lyre to my hearing
Echoing one tune after another
And with the flute and pipes, for God's sake blow
For I tend with all of me towards melodies
Weave a veil around my heart with its magic
For it now flows towards stillness with speed
Sing gently and lay out for my emotions
A soft bed of exquisite meanings
Look how the rays of wishes are imaged
And settle in my eyes
Cease tears, lift your heads high
Like flowers whose crowns rise at dawn
See that between the firmament and my deathbed
The bride of death has lit up like a flame
Hush your breaths and listen with me
To the gentle fluttering of her wings in all attentiveness
My children, come and kiss me farewell
With smiles and joy on my forehead
Kiss me gently with affectionate eyelids
For they are the best kisses
Bring the children to touch
With their fingers that lovely neck of mine
Summon the elders to bless
My forehead with their hands, all wrinkled
Leave the girls of the neighborhood to approach my deathbed
To see the image of God in the midst of my eyelashes
And hear my breaths running with speed
The echo of an eternal spiritual melody
