لَقَد نادى الغُرابُ بِبَينِ لُبنى
فَطارَ القَلبُ مِن حَذَرِ الغُرابِ
The raven did call of the parting with Lubna
So the heart took flight, fearing the raven
وَقالَ غَداً تَباعَدُ دارُ لُبنى
وَتَنأى بَعدَ وُدٍّ وَاِقتِرابِ
And said tomorrow Lubna's home grows distant
And retreats beyond love and closeness
فَقُلتُ تَعِستَ وَيحُكَ مِن غُرابٍ
وَكانَ الدَهرَ سَعيُكَ في تَبابِ
So I said, woe to you, cursed raven
For striving to sow confusion
لَقَد أولِعتَ لا لاقَيتَ خَيراً
بِتَفريقِ المُحِبِّ عَنِ الحُبابِ
You're bent on evil, you'll see no good
From parting the lover from the beloved
