I warded Muhammad’s face with the blessing of his namesake,
And his beauty with his namesake’s radiant, exalted beauty.
Indeed, I jealously guard the beauties of his face
Even from his own two eyes—what, then, of all other eyes?
A moon: if beauty were apportioned among all creation,
His gracious qualities would be allotted the finest share.
