إِن كانَ ردفك عَلى عادل قوامك جار

دَعني مِن الجار آخذ حَق ذاكَ الجار

If your companion is just, keep him as a neighbor

عذار خَديك لام الجرّ وَالتَعليل

O smile of the mouth, be not amazed at my flowing tears

The blushing of your cheek blamed separation and excuses

أَضحى فُؤادي بِها مَجرور وَهيَ الجار

My heart has become, because of it, dragged and it is the neighbor
