عَلَيك بِتَقوى اللَه وَالصدق إِنَّما

عَلَيك بِتَقوى اللَه وَالصدق إِنَّما

نَجاة الفَتى يا صاح بِالصدق وَالتُقى

نَجاة الفَتى يا صاح بِالصدق وَالتُقى

Hold fast to reverence for God and truthfulness—for only

a young man’s salvation, my friend, lies in truthfulness and piety.

وَقِس حال أَبناء الزَمان بِضدّهِ

وَقِس حال أَبناء الزَمان بِضدّهِ

تَرَ الفَرق ما بَين السَعادة وَالشَقا

تَرَ الفَرق ما بَين السَعادة وَالشَقا

And measure the state of the people of the age by its opposite;

you will see the difference between happiness and misery.
