The sun of our auspicious joy has risen,

from the heaven of bliss, with fortune’s happiest fortune.

The pitch-black gloom of cares was dispelled at the advent

of joy’s radiant light on this day we witness.

Our age awoke sober from its drunkenness when

the sweet draught we had sought ran clear.

Then happiness showed itself to us on the horizon of hopes,

radiant, the light of its sun filling existence.

So seize victory, Muhammad, and rejoice

in the gladness of this happy wedding.

Because of you, it was like Eid within the month of Eid—

or rather, it is Eid, and that is no far-fetched thing.

Thus congratulations to joy recorded the date of its beginning:

Come, come—these are the nights of Eid.
