وَورشانٍ تَعشقه حمام
فَكُنَّ لِنُور بِهجَتِهِ فراشا
And a wood pigeon whom the doves adore—
So they became moths around the light of his radiance.
يَقول أَقلّهم سَفهاً وَجَهلاً
رَضيت بِهِ لحافاً أَو فِراشا
The one among them least given to folly and ignorance says:
“I would gladly have him as my coverlet—or my bed.”
